Short Story: I am Envy pt3

As High school comes, the most awaited event for juniors and seniors arrives, the J.S. Prom, like any other 3rd year High School student, Veny is excited as a dog waiting for his chew bone to be served. He told Alpha Dogdog about it but she didn’t bother to react because she’s too busy patching and stitching velvet cloth. Veny told his Rival Cousin about it and got an advice to start looking for a design, but knowing Veny, he already has something in his mind. He wanted to show it to Alpha Dog but he knows she’s just going to shove him off, so he waited for a good timing to ask. Few days has past and the pieces of clothes transformed into a beautiful dress, and when it’s finish he was happy for her. 

Dresses are not Veny’s type, but still he finds the dress very beautiful. He thinks that anyone who wears it will surely win the prom queen title, as if the dress were woven by Greek Goddess Athena herself. Veny was on sincerely happy for her, at that very moment he forgot that she’s the cause of his hidden pain. He let the day passed thinking that Alpha Dog dog may need to take a rest after finishing her masterpiece. 

The next day, Veny tried to impress Alpha Dog dog by cleaning the whole house, and finishing his chores early, he didn’t stomp his feet or wore any other impression thinking this might tick off Alpha Dog’s mood and when the time was right Veny brought his simple drawing of a polo shirt and showed it to Alpha Dog, and asked her if she can make it for him for the J.S Prom. Veny knows that Alpha Dog can finish it on before the prom because he’ve seen her finish polo uniform overnight but when Veny’s about to say that his thinking of the color blue as the shade she immediately said “I DON’T want to do it”, shutting off Veny immediately. Staggering pain crawled his heart from the rejection but tears never flow out. He couldn’t believe it, just like that he was rejected, no sugar coating, no segway, segway. Ouch! Was the first emotion that registered to his brain, he wanted to cry that instant but opted out to walk out of the room and just silently sour grape on his bed.

Days, weeks, months, prom, birthday, Christmas, New Year, ending of 3rd year classes flew just like that, and March is here. Veny’s already day dreaming what his new classmates look like, he expected that they’ll be around 20-25 in a class, there would be a big library filled with tons of books waiting to be read by curious minds. It was a sweet dream for him. So sweet he turned bitter after finding out that Rival Cousin is done with her enrolment. Oh sh*t, he then ask Alpha Dog about when is she going to accompany him to enrol and she just said “you’ve been doing it for three years, cannot you not do it for the last year?” with this kind of remark Veny knew what was happening and just simply answered "I wouldn't be able to enroll unless you give me my allowance" then Alpha replied to him to just remind her about it in the morning.

Poor Veny, he feels disgusted with Alpha breaking her promise for the Nth time. He wanted to scream but knowing it will only make things worst he just went out of the room heart brokenly. He felt sad and confuse at the same time. Why me? why do you always treat me like this? So pissed Veny just went to sleep without eating his dinner. The next day still pissed, Veny asked for his allowance then took off. Hayyy! I'm so down right now, I could use a mood booster. He then huriedly went to on the terminal and patiently waited for his turn. When it's already his turn to ride the cab, A teary eyed man asked him if he could take the cab instead because of an emergency, feeling bad for the guy he let him passed and just waited for another cab. Two or three cabs has passed but it's already been occupied. Heat starts to get on his nerve so he walked out and then just took a tricycle along the highway.
